Describe the evidence
Record sightings, locations and the type of damage. Mention nearby cover, existing fencing and gaps around gates. Provide a plan of planted areas and buried services if available.
Ask about prevention and control together
Discuss whether fencing repairs or other practical protection could reduce access. Any control method needs to suit the site, neighbouring activity and applicable legal requirements. Explain pets, public paths and working hours so the recommendation reflects how the land is actually used rather than treating all rural and urban sites alike.
Review existing fence maintenance
A useful barrier assessment should include gates, damaged sections and the surrounding ground, not just the nominal fence height. Ask what can be checked on the site. Changes to access may support a control plan, but no recommendation should ignore the actual route and neighbouring conditions.
