Wasp treatment aftercare: why instructions vary

Aftercare for a wasp nest depends on the method, location and access conditions. Instructions from another household may not fit a nest near your own door, roof or garden path.

Clarify the immediate restrictions

Before the technician leaves, ask which areas to avoid, how pets should be managed and what activity you should report. Do not approach the nest to check the result or disturb material around the entrance.

Agree any further checks

Ask when to make contact if activity continues and whether removal or repair is part of the quote. Keep the location information and visit details together. A clear plan helps you judge what to observe safely and prevents unnecessary attempts to interfere with the nest while the treatment is being assessed.

Keep the visit record

Write down the nest location and keep the aftercare sheet with the treatment date. If you later see insects elsewhere, provide that context rather than assuming it is the same nest. A fresh report may need identification and a different assessment from the original roof opening.
